Yes, it's been a little while.

I have been out of commmission, so to speak, for the last two plus weeks due to a bout of "vertigo".  Yah, I get those dang things and it tends to slow down my production or creativity.  But I think I am "back up and at 'em".... finally!   Now to make up for lost sewing time LOL

Before I went outta commission, I started another quilt out of scraps and stash fabrics.  A very fun and quick quilt (well it would have been if I hadn't got ...well we'll just leave that out of this story LOL) that has taken the stash down ever so slightly. 

This is where I started...cutting strips from my scraps that were long enough and I really didn't worry about color.  Really... I didn't.  Now this is just 32 strips of "dark" colors.  Then I had to get 32 lights!   Okay, I know that wasn't going to happen and I wasn't about to get light browns, blues, etc.  What I was looking for was cream colored fabrics.  Well I didn't have enough of those either so I went with what I had and made it work.  After all this is a "scrap" quilt!!

I'm still putting this one together so there is no picture other than this block, which I think shows how the quilt will be looking when it's done.  And it couldn't be easier!  I'm hoping to have the the blocks all together sometime on Friday if all goes well.  Then I will decide if I will put some borders on it.  Guess that all depends on how much of my stash I want to bust on this one LOL

Now when I cut all these strips out, I was in the process of cutting strips for yet another scrap quilt.  Well actually this one is going to be a tablecloth for me!!  But I need at least 72 different strips before I can start.  I'm now up to 70 strips so the planning of layout will be starting soon. Don't yah just love all the colors???  This may be a scrappy quilt, but I didn't want any "bright" fabrics in here and I think I have done just that.  I would have liked more cream colors, but I wasn't about to go out and buy some!  That would be defeating the purpose of this year at trying to bust my stash!  Of course this picture coloring is off but you get the idea of what I'm working with.

Unfortunately, work gets in the way of my passion.  My hobby - my sanction - my stress reliever.   Try as I might to change how things are - it just doesn't work out - the responsibility of the job is just too high and my morals will not allow me to be anything other than I am and always have been - reliable, responsible.  And take real pride in that!  But as my saying is to others "Suck it up buttercup and get over it." So, What's the Story behind this quilt?

The day of revealing "The Quilt" is now over for those following me on Facebook, and I made it but just barely though!  The quilt it now all bound and looks wonder, if I do say so! You  maybe wondering if there is any meaning/story behind this quilt I have been working so hard on for the past two weeks, and actually there is a lot of meaning in it.  Some things came to me as I went along; somethings with a whole of meaning.  You best go get a coffee/adult beverage - go head... I'll wait for you! On June 3rd, our little town hosts a Relay for Life, where we walk for 12 hours (7pm - 7am) as a fund raiser for Cancer (see here for more info http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=8672&pg=entry ) Did you know there were this many ribbons? It's Past Two Weeks!!!

OH , Yikes!!!  It's been just over two weeks since I last posted - one thing I was going to try and do every two weeks!   Dang-it-all, the time just flips right past yah if you are not careful to watch every second that goes by!! Anyway.... I'm here !! Right now I'm on some much needed downtime and enjoying my days sewing on UFO's.  I really don't care for that name.  But oh, man do I have UFO's!  Maybe I should find another name for those items that have been started and not finished!  (UnFinished Objects)  PIG's are Projects In Grocery sacs; WIP's are Works In Progress, but then again I could say all mine are that... right?   No, cause they really are not... some I have not worked on since 1998 - and I think there is one there that is every earlier than that!  In fact I'm positive it older than 25 years!  Thank heavens I used quality fabrics, (very rich for back then!!!) it just needs to be quilted!  I got it!!   PHD!  Yes, I remember that one
