And summer is over! WHAT?!

It's been a whirlwind the last couple of months.  And summer was in there??   Okay, so a whole two days of summer doesn't count - let's have a "due-over"!!  Who's in for that??

 Not a whole lot of extra time since the last "report"  but I did make the best of what time I did manage to sneak away from everyday/work life.   AND I have taken "my time" back at work so I'm a slightly happy camper.  ☺ Just slightly LOL

Speaking of camper - it's time to pack up for Camp Wanna Sew.  Like men with their hunting, my focus is on just getting through each day until the it's time to leave.  And that my friends is in 9 sleeps!   Woo Hooo!!!  Doing a happy dance here, I tell you!  Then it will be a long 8 months waiting  until the next one. Booooo....hiss!!!  So I will enjoy each moment with all the camp friends made over the past 7 or 8 years that I have been going and sew till I drop! ☺

This weekend I worked on Christmas presents for the Great nieces & nephews and got them all done!  All 10 of them and that includes making the bags from the Christmas stash which busted another 4 or 5 metres!  I'm thinking I should be able to buy new Christmas stock next year!  (insert HUGE grin here)

And yes I just  used the dreaded  by many  "C" word .  So many are annoyed when I use word "Christmas" other than in December, but heh....that's their problem .. not mine.  I'm annoyed with those that don't know how to enjoy December!  My problem - not theirs ..so, touché!   With me shopping all year long, I get to actually enjoy the season and the real meaning of it, while others complain about how fast it came and the stress of it all.  It is what you make it.

    Not complaining about Christmas. Thanks for the wake up on FB this AM. I gasped! Great that you have so many gifts done. I have a month to wait until my Get Away SEW time. Our guild is having their 1st Retreat in October.

Unfortunately, work gets in the way of my passion.  My hobby - my sanction - my stress reliever.   Try as I might to change how things are - it just doesn't work out - the responsibility of the job is just too high and my morals will not allow me to be anything other than I am and always have been - reliable, responsible.  And take real pride in that!  But as my saying is to others "Suck it up buttercup and get over it." So, What's the Story behind this quilt?

The day of revealing "The Quilt" is now over for those following me on Facebook, and I made it but just barely though!  The quilt it now all bound and looks wonder, if I do say so! You  maybe wondering if there is any meaning/story behind this quilt I have been working so hard on for the past two weeks, and actually there is a lot of meaning in it.  Some things came to me as I went along; somethings with a whole of meaning.  You best go get a coffee/adult beverage - go head... I'll wait for you! On June 3rd, our little town hosts a Relay for Life, where we walk for 12 hours (7pm - 7am) as a fund raiser for Cancer (see here for more info http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=8672&pg=entry ) Did you know there were this many ribbons? It's Past Two Weeks!!!

OH , Yikes!!!  It's been just over two weeks since I last posted - one thing I was going to try and do every two weeks!   Dang-it-all, the time just flips right past yah if you are not careful to watch every second that goes by!! Anyway.... I'm here !! Right now I'm on some much needed downtime and enjoying my days sewing on UFO's.  I really don't care for that name.  But oh, man do I have UFO's!  Maybe I should find another name for those items that have been started and not finished!  (UnFinished Objects)  PIG's are Projects In Grocery sacs; WIP's are Works In Progress, but then again I could say all mine are that... right?   No, cause they really are not... some I have not worked on since 1998 - and I think there is one there that is every earlier than that!  In fact I'm positive it older than 25 years!  Thank heavens I used quality fabrics, (very rich for back then!!!) it just needs to be quilted!  I got it!!   PHD!  Yes, I remember that one
